AceTel Releases R838 5G CPE Router with Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 Platform
AceTel announces the volume availability of the R838 5G CPE router, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 with 3GPP Rel-16, dual-band Wi-Fi, and TR-069 ACS management.

AceTel, a global manufacturer of carrier-grade fixed wireless access and IoT telematics hardware, today announced the commercial volume release of the AceTel R838 5G CPE Router. Powered by Qualcomm’s 3GPP Release 16 Snapdragon X62 5G platform, the R838 is engineered to deliver multi-gigabit wireless broadband to residential households, remote teleworkers, retail branch stores, and small-to-medium enterprises (SME).
The R838 addresses the expanding global demand for accessible Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) by offering carrier-grade cellular sensitivity, dual-mode 5G Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) support, and robust remote Auto Configuration Server (ACS) management within a sleek, compact desktop vertical enclosure.
Technical Overview & Platform Architecture
Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 Baseband Processing
Built on advanced energy-efficient silicon architecture, the R838 complies with the 3GPP Release 16 specification:
- Peak Data Rates: Delivers up to 2.4 Gbps downlink and 900 Mbps uplink across Sub-6GHz frequency bands with 4x4 DL MIMO.
- Spectrum Agility: Supports multi-carrier aggregation across global TDD and FDD bands (including n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n41, n77, n78) with seamless fallback to LTE-Advanced Category 19 (up to 1.6 Gbps DL).
- Sub-15ms Latency: Native 5G SA core integration eliminates packet queuing delay, ensuring stable performance for VoIP teleconferencing, SaaS applications, and interactive cloud services.
Qualcomm Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Subsystem
Equipped with Qualcomm’s QCA6174 wireless chipset:
- Delivers concurrent dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi throughput up to 1200 Mbps (300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz + 867 Mbps on 5.8 GHz).
- 2x2 Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) allows the router to communicate with multiple client devices simultaneously without channel congestion, supporting up to 32 concurrent active wireless endpoints.
Enterprise Security & Remote ACS Provisioning
- Cybersecurity Protections: Integrates WPA3 Personal encryption, hardware SPI firewall, IP/MAC address filtering, and Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack mitigation.
- Telecom ACS Protocols: Full compliance with TR-069, TR-181, SNMP v1/v2c, and FOTA, enabling service providers to provision subscriber settings, monitor RF link quality, and push security firmware updates remotely without field dispatches.
